The Department of Electronic and Communication Engineering is established in 2010. The department offers B.E. program with an intake of 60 students,. The main focus of the department is to impart quality education, technical knowledge and technology to students with an intension of developing their personality, skill, knowledge and to face challenges in technical field with confidence in the flied of IT.

Vission and Mission

Our purpose is to inspire and educate our students to become autonomous thinkers, discerning moral agents, and active citizens and to develop and maintain programs of excellence in teaching and research which meet the educational needs of Electronics & communication industry and which will support national needs for well educated electronics engineering professionals.

We envision a world that totally belongs to the power of knowledge and intelligence to produce globally competitive and socially sensitized engineering graduates and to bring out quality research in the frontier areas of Electronics and Communication Engineering.

1. A Graduate will be a successful IT professional and function effectively in multidisciplinary domains.

2. A Graduate will have the perspective of lifelong learning for continuous improvement of knowledge in Computer Science & Engineering, higher studies, and research.

3. A Graduate will be able to respond to local, national and global issues by imparting his/her knowledge of Computer Science & Engineering in Educational, Government, Financial and Private sectors.

A graduate of the Computer Science and Engineering Program will demonstrate:

PO1: Engineering knowledge: Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.

PO2: Problem analysis: Identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences

PO3: Design/development of solutions: Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.

PO4: Conduct investigations of complex problems: Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.

PO5: Modern tool usage: Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modeling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.

PO6: The engineer and society: Apply reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the professional engineering practice.

PO7: Environment and sustainability: Understand the impact of the professional engineering solutions in societal and environmental contexts, and demonstrate the knowledge of, and need for sustainable development.

PO8: Ethics: Apply ethical principles and commit to professional ethics and responsibilities and norms of the engineering practice.

It gives me immense pleasure and pride to welcome you to the department of Electronics and communication Engineering, of AGMR college of engineering and Technology, Varur Hubballi which is one of the reputed institutions in North Karnataka.  The department has a well qualified, experienced and dedicated faculties working as a team to prepare the students for the successful career in industry, research and academics. All our efforts are put to to make the students develop logical, analytical, competitive and engineering skills so that they could be updated with the industry requirements. We train the students not only technically but also with good moral values and disciplinary skills which is needed to have a bright future.

Electronic industry is advancing at a faster rate. With the advancement in VLSI industry the size of the electronic circuits has reduced, made the circuits faster and reliable. In today’s world, communication technology has become a part of our lives. In order to update ourselves with ongoing trends in electronics, the department has a excellent lab facilities which are updated from time to time. The students are well trained in the lab to develop technical concepts which are necessary for designing the circuits so that it could be turned into a product.

The department has an association runned by the name “Tech Titans” where the students work in a team to share their creative thinking and talents so that it could inspire  them to train themselves for tomorrows innovations. The events are conducted and organized successfully every academic year.

Our students have been placed in reputed companies. We also encourage the student’s participation in KSCST Projects. The students have participated in various state level events at various colleges.
