NATIONAL INSTITUTE RANKING FRAMEWORK(NIRF)

The National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) was established by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) and launched on 29th September 2015. NIRF provides a methodology to rank institutions across India based on various parameters.

  1. Parameters: NIRF ranks institutions based on various parameters like Teaching, Learning and Resources, Research and Professional Practices, Graduation Outcomes, Outreach and Inclusivity, and Perception.
  2. Categories: Institutions are ranked in different categories such as Overall, Universities, Engineering, Management, Pharmacy, Colleges, Medical, Law, and Architecture.
  3. Objectives: The main objectives are to encourage academic excellence, foster healthy competition among institutions, and enhance transparency in education.
